Week One

Hello, my name is Jack Campbell and I am a tenth grade student at High Tech High North County. I am 15 years old and I have an interesting life filled with many activities both academic and physical. Although I don't play sports, I get a lot of exercise from things like walking my dogs, walking in general, riding bikes, the occasional trip to the gym with my sister, and activities that require small, but consistent, movement. The average day for me consists of most of these.

 

As for the food that I eat, I try to eat healthy and pretty much do. For starters, my mother already has a predisposition to buy things that are healthy, and I enjoy a wide variety of healthy food, especially fruit and vegetables. When it comes to fast food, I do enjoy it, however I do not eat it frequently and most of my meals are home cooked. Similar to fast food, sugar is not something that I am wild about, I like things like chocolate, but after a few bites I can no longer enjoy it. In some foods, I really like the use of sugar but it is not something where I see it and need to have it. Overall I enjoy eating healthy food for that fact that it is good for you and it tastes good.

January 23

 

Today I ate:

Apples, potato chips, pizza, brownie, blueberry bar, cereal, mashed potatoes, pot roast, carrots, blackberries

 

Today I drank:

Milk, lemonade, pomegranate juice

 

Reflection: today I ate more than yesterday, but the things I ate were not large in quantity and I probably went over my requirements by a little.

 

 

January 24

 

Ate:

Cereal, sandwich, potato chips, popcorn, milk, apples

 

Drank:

Pomegranate juice

 

Reflection: today I did not really eat a variety of things, but I did get a quantity of food that was probably close to the amount that I need.

 

 

January 25

 

Ate:

Cereal, taco, oat meal, pizza

 

Drank:

Lemonade, pepsi, milk

 

Reflection: Today I only had three main things, other then that I did not really eat anything because I was doing other stuff. I do think that I met my requirements because of the amount of each dish.

 

 

January 26

 

Ate: French toast, bacon, cheeseburger, orange chicken, blackberrys

 

Drank: apple juice, pepsi

 

Reflection: Same as yesterday, the dishes were in resonably sized quantities and because of that I believe that I recieved the proper amound of calories. 

January 22

 

Today I ate:

ApplesPizza, Pasta, Crackers, Chips

 

Today I drank:

Pomegranate juice, Water, Lemonade

 

Reflection: I seems as though I ate a lot while I was eating it, but in reality I did not really eat that much. I would say that I made my daily requirements.
