Dream School Reflection/Description:
When you first walk up to Campbell High School you will notice the extremely large campus. The main building is composed of two shapes, a cylinder in the center with two cubes on the sides. The building is fairly tall and very wide. In the front there are several glass windows but the building is mostly brick. A series of steps lead up to the entrance. Upon entering you will notice a large curved staircase that leads to all the floors, as well as large cylindrical objects in the middle of the room. These objects lead to and are class rooms. The upstairs part of the building is mostly Mathematics, Science, and Physics. The downstairs area of the building is Language arts, Political science, World studies, and other Humanities related subjects. While the main, or center, floor is used for "non-core" classes or working space. All of the teacher at the school strive to teach the students in the funnest and best way possible so that the students may actually learn instead of memorize information. The way that the students learn is that they do projects to display the information and what they learned in a creative way. The class rooms at Campbell High are not regular, they are set up for creation of projects. At the front of the room as well as the sides there are white boards, underneath the white boards are cabinets and cabinets of supplies tools and other materials. The desks transform in to work benches (or the work benches transform in to desks). Lining the walls are different machines. There are no textbooks in the class rooms, however there is a book vending machine. The ceiling has a world map printed on it and the floor is concrete. In front of the white board is a large pull down screen for the projector. In one to the cabinets are 20 computers, supplied by Apple and Microsoft, that are for the students use. In each class there are only 20 students, but they can choose to collaborate with any one in the school. There are three classes in each grade. For Physics, many people come to the school to display information to help students, such as Steven Hawking. For world studies Campbell High has their very own private jet to fly students places to learn. Their mascot is the Tesla Coil.
